What is egg tofu?

As you may know from the name, Japanese egg tofu contains egg as one of its main ingredients. It is made from eggs, soy milk, and water.

It has a similar texture with silky tofu. But it has an extra creaminess to it, and it tastes like egg pudding.

Because of its silkiness, Japanese egg tofu makes great pan-fried and stir-fried dishes. The crisp skin adds another layer to the texture. You may also find it in hot pots and steamed dishes in Asian cuisine.
